Christine’s film journey began in 2004 with a documentary funded by Rice University, set in Lijiang, China, which still serves as a teaching tool for Mandarin and Chinese culture. Transitioning to narrative films in 2008, she founded her production company, Moth to Flame, in 2010. Initially focusing on commercial work for brands like Nike and HP, Christine never wavered in her passion for cinematic storytelling.
Balancing her business with her creative pursuits, Christine produced acclaimed short films such as “A Bird’s Nest” and “Ya Albi,” available on Amazon and ShortsTV, and showcased at festivals like the New Orleans Film Festival, Hollyshorts, and Bermuda International Film Festival.
Christine ventured into feature filmmaking with her debut, “Funemployment,” a crowdfunded film with a $30,000 budget, which she boldly self-distributed. Building on this, she secured funding for “Erzulie,” a dark comedy adventure thriller about a killer swamp mermaid goddess. With a $225,000 budget, the film debuted on June 14, 2022, across VOD platforms.
In 2019, Christine published “Get Reelisms,” a practical guide for aspiring filmmakers navigating set life. Since 2016, she has been a full-time 3rd area DGA qualified 1st Assistant Director. Recently relocating from Austin to Los Angeles, Christine continues to refine her craft as a writer and director.
