Antonio began his career as a still photographer in his own B&W lab at home. After breaking into the industry, Antonio’s first assignment was as a field photographer working closely with first nations in Mexico and Canada.
He then moved on to a BTS documentary of a Swedish/Danish production, Puma’s Daughter. Soon after, he began working in the camera department on Clear and Present Danger and later found himself pulling focus on several commercials for Ultrafilms. This lead him to becoming the 1st AC for DP’s Chivo Lubezki, Declan Quinn, John Campbell, Pascal Rabaud, and Rodrigo Prieto who gave him his first 2nd Unit DP job on Frida.
Antonio then shot his first full feature, Normal, in Prague, Czech Republic for which he was nominated for the Czech Lions.
His next film, Black Bread, earned him a both a Goya and a Gaudi Academy Award which started him on his way to a multinational career in the U.S., Czech Republic and Mexico.
He shot Last Knights starring Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen, The Bachelors with JK Simmons and Julie Delpy, and Face of Love with Annette Bening and Ed Harris among many others.
Antonio is currently based in Mexico City and LA. He is a member of the ASC, AČK and AEC and has both American and Mexican Citizenship with Long Term Residence in the Czech Republic.
