Sarah Barker Resume
Sarah Barker is a television producer and director living in Brooklyn. With a specialism in factual programming, Sarah has field-produced, story-produced, written, and directed award-winning television for National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, and Channel 4 (UK).
Her most recent credits include producing “Live from Space” on National Geographic and Channel 4, producing and directing “When Sharks Attack” on National Geographic Wild, and field-producing “Mysteries at the Museum” for Travel Channel.
Originally from the UK, Sarah studied Astronomy and Astrophysics at The University of Sheffield. She then spent a year in La Palma, Spain, working as a support astronomer for a world-class observatory and gaining a Masters degree in astrophysics, before turning her attention to television.
Her passion for science and learning persists, and Sarah is happiest when producing and directing programming with factual content at its core. She is, simultaneously, fascinated by human stories, and delights in interviewing people with thought-provoking experiences to share.
Sarah relishes in crafting engaging stories and bringing them to life on television; a natural problem-solver with a relentless desire for adventure, Sarah is in her element on shoot and has filmed everywhere from NASA’s mission control in Houston, Texas, to a small boat surrounded by sharks in the Bahamas.
She is looking to continue making exciting and engaging television, and would equally love to work in documentaries and narrative film.
